Statement of Faith
What we believe and how we serve.
What We Believe
Christianity is central to the purpose and mission of The Life Center of Santa Ana. We are staffed, whether by employees or volunteers, only with committed disciples of Jesus Christ. The following Statement of Faith and Code of Christian Conduct is reviewed and affirmed annually by all staff, volunteers, and board members. “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” (Philippians 1:27)
Our Statement of Faith
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person—among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. “For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)
Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed within the context of monogamous marriage between a biological male and a biological female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)
Statement of Firm Faith
With firm faith, we also believe everything contained in the word of God, whether written or handed down in Tradition, which the Church, either by a solemn judgment or by the ordinary and universal Magisterium, sets forth to be revealed as divinely revealed. We also firmly accept and hold each and everything definitively proposed by the Church regarding teaching on faith and morals.
